Children’s Fund

The Beginning Over Foundation is seeking sponsors for this important campaign. Help us help the loved ones who have stepped up and are playing vital roles in caring for these children after domestic abuse homicide.

Beginning July 1, 2011, the Beginning Over Foundation, along with Lehigh Valley ice cream vendors, will take part in our fourth annual Lick Domestic Abuse campaign. We would like to ask you to consider joining the cause by participating. Here are some easy ways to help:

Become a sponsor by agreeing to donate 10% of ice cream sales on a day of your choice in July 2011. All proceeds will directly support local children through “Kimberlee Children’s Fund”.

Offer purple ribbons to your customers for a donation of $1 each. These festive ribbons, signed by your customers, can be displayed in your Ice Cream Shop, Store or Restaurant. It is a great way to show your community that you care about this important issue.

Lick Domestic Abuse campaign raises money for the Beginning Over Foundation’s Kimberlee Children’s Fund to support children of domestic abuse and domestic homicide.

We wish to address the financial exhaustion affecting loved ones or relatives who are raising children due to domestic violence homicide. Most grandparents or relatives who find themselves in this predicament, raising these children, make huge financial sacrifices to provide a safe, stable and loving home for children who so often are physically and/or psychologically scarred by the rough, uncaring and sometimes dangerous years they have lived through. The goals of the campaign are to raise money for the Beginning Over Foundation’s “Kimberlee Children’s Fund”. Kimberlee Children’s Fund was established in honor of the late Kimberlee Carl Godshall to alleviate the financial hardships associated when a child loses a parent to domestic abuse homicide. Sadly, Kimberlee lost her life at the hands of her abusive husband while their child was in the next room. Children who have witnessed domestic abuse are at greater risk for Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), learning and other disabilities associated with this devastating tragedy. Children are also in need of long term specialized counseling and other needs that insurance may not cover. The Lick Domsetic Abuse Campaign will help provide funding to the families for the needs of the child(ren) that they are now caring for and to help them provide to them hope and a promising future.

Here is a list of services funded through our Kimberlee’s Children’s Fun:

  • Specialized Schooling
  • Mental Health care providers
  • Co-pays
  • Therapy, including speech, language etc.
  • Specialized doctors
  • Tutoring
  • Clothing & necessities
  • Future College Scholarship funding (as funding becomes available)
