What is our lending library?
Our Domestic Violence Library is sponsored by the Beginning Over Foundation, a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization. The library’s goal is to provide domestic violence support, awareness, and education. Our library offers free books and other materials to survivors of domestic abuse and violence, aiming to arm women with education and supportive resources to help them begin the healing process.
What is our Legal Resource Library?
Our Law Library offers law books and information, not legal advice. Here you can relax and read in the company and comfort of people who truly understand and can help you navigate the legal system. We have a collection of legal books regarding your rights as a victim of domestic violence. We hope our law library can help you get the answers to the questions that matter the most.
Why?
Books and other resources about domestic violence and recovery can play an important role in the healing process, but they can be hard to access. Most of the women coming into our library cited cost as a barrier to buying books.
We believe that education is an important part of healing, and each material in our library has been selected because we believe survivors will benefit from it. We also are aware that financial and social constraints inhibit some survivors from finding the resources they need. We hope that our library will be one step toward making resources accessible to all; this library is another step to reach that goal. We hope that you’ll enjoy the benefits of the library!
