Purple Salon and Spa offers complementary hair services and makeovers to

individuals touched by domestic abuse.

Offering sevices to individuals for court hearings and job interivews along with sevices for their children.

Our programs go well beyond a makeover; they are a Transformation Treaty for the human spirit. Witnessing the love and support circulating at our Salon is a true gift and most definitely the vehicle for transformation. Our Salon Professionals have the unique opportunity to see each guest upon arrival and departure. Some were apprehensive and unaccustomed to the gentle kindness they received in those first moments. THAT ALL CHANGES! After a few hours, many of the women looked and felt so confident they could have been the anchorwoman on the five o’clock news. As for us volunteers, we feel the joy, inspiration and blessings this brings to all involved. I am grateful to all the survivors and volunteers who participate in our programs and look forward to future events with you.

Purple Salon and Spa is the creation of Heidi Markow and Ashley Stecker. This inspirational Mother-Daughter Team utilizes their skills to give back to the community! For Heidi, who developed the Beginning Over Foundation in 2005 and a graduate of the Lansdale School of Cosmetology, Purple Salonexpands her mission to honor her beloved sister, who lost her life at the hands of an abusive husband, as well as help other womenin crisis working hard to effect change and rebuild their lives after devastation. Ashley, a graduate of the Career Institute of Technology and a licensed cosmetologist works to inspire and help women look their best. Ashley has trained with the Redken Academy on 5th Ave. in New York City.

Did you know that the Beginning Over Foundation awards scholarships to attend beauty school to anyone who is a survivor of domestic abuse. We are able to provide these scholarships through our fundraising efforts and by our stylist who donate back to the BOF each month. To find out more or to apply for a scholarship send us an email.
